Bittersweet weekend for Lennox Racing in the third round of the OK/OKJ European Championship in Sweden

Our drivers showed remarkable improvements on such a hard track as Åsum Ring.

The team was represented by Aaron Garcia in OK Junior Category and by Rafael Modonese, Maksymilian Angelard, and Nathan Schaap in OK Senior Category.

Race weekend proved to be tough from the beginning: on Friday Garcia finished 34th in OKJ’s Qualifying Practices, while in the OK class Modonese was the best reaching P37, far by the first by less than half a second; Angelard and Schaap closed respectively P56 and P57.

Qualifying Heats have been complicated from Friday to Saturday. Garcia found a good pace in OKJ and was able to push this CL to the limit due to reaching good confidence: Aaron finished the Heats in 35th place. More difficulties for our drivers in the OK category: Modonese (P51), Angelard (P45), and Modonese (P57) were a bit unlucky with the tricky track conditions.

Garcia confirmed himself also on Sunday after the Super Heats. Aaron demonstrated to be calm and fast on the track, using all his potential for the Final.

The Spaniard fought hard, placing 28th even due to a penalty for incorrectly installed front fairing. Unfortunately, non of our drivers in OK was able to qualify for the final: Modonese finished 49th, Schaap closed in 55th with a narrow gap on Angelard, 57th.

Jordon Lennox-Lamb, Team Manager: “Of course, we can’t be completely satisfied with race results, but we are building an extremely solid team, with a remarkable attitude of work by drivers and mechanics. I’m sure that soon we will be able to show our real potential, maybe suddenly from Franciacorta: we still got a wide room for improvements.”
